Since the factors which affect our weather are
literally "fluid" - Florida Bay and the Gulf Stream -
accurate weather prediction is impossible.
Usually, these elements work in our favor, as
we avoid most of the thunderstorms that are so common to the
South Miami/Homestead area.
Since
the nearest weather reporting station is in Homestead, an
"official" forecast for Key Largo is actually the
forecast for Homestead. Because that
is 30 miles away, and on the other side of
Florida Bay, the forecast is rarely accurate.
